Every time somebody is crassly antisemitic to me in public, my wife is aghast and everybody else acts like I'm made of glass, when I usually am trying not to burst out laughing at what ludicrous, silly, and pathetically ineffectual people they are.

On the other hand, when people are slickly antisemitic, speaking with the power of the violent populism they have at their back, causing my blood to run cold and worry about my immediate and long-term safety, the response is waffling about maintaining relationships (not usually from my wife).

This thought brought to you by an antisemite being escorted out of a (famously Jewish!) restaurant for screaming because he saw my kippah.

Domestic problems cannot be solved if they are not identified.

I’m concerned that in the long term if things don’t go well, the U.S. will be held out as a scapegoat.

It’s always easier to blame an external entity than to do the hard work of reflecting on one’s own mistakes.

Of course, the real and primary blame lays squarely on Russia, which decided to launch a full-scale invasion of #Ukraine.

Montanans have a #FirstAmendment right to use TikTok to speak and access information online, and the company has a First Amendment right to select and curate users’ content. So we’re glad a federal judge struck down Montana’s TikTok ban.

#hamas has fired over 10,000 rockets into Israel - not aiming at military targets but at civilians.

That is a #warcrime

Anyone who refuses to acknowledge Hamas' #warcrimes while complaining about Israel's military operations (where they warn civilians to get out of the way) is supporting #terrorism and #genocide

I want to see the fighting in #Gaza end.

I want to see Israelis and Palestinians living in peace with each other.

But this is Hamas' war. This is what they wanted. And they wanted all these ignorant people to condemn Israel for defending its existence while remaining silent about Hamas' culpability.

Hamas bombed Palestinian caravans as they fled #Gazacity.

Hamas shot Palestinians who tried to flee from the hospitals.

Hamas did these things knowing that people would falsely blame Israel for them.

There is no hope for peace while Hamas exists. They only exist for the sake of carrying out war against Israel and all Jews.

I also happen to think that even a current president should not be immune from prosecution — but there is ZERO question that immunity does not attach to former presidents.

I think every single day about Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a beautiful boy who was taken away from Rachel Goldberg-Polin, a teacher, mom, and someone who has helped me so much.

I think about how she must be feeling now. How she would sit down with me and help me with the most trivial things, water and electricity bills, landlord. And now she spoke to the Pope, to Elon Musk, and Biden.

I pray every day her boy will be returned to her soon, she has the determination that I have not seen in anyone else I ever met. So much kindness, understanding, and humor. I want her to have her family back.
