Kalief Browder was 100% innocent. He was a good student and had never been arrested. He was accused of stealing a backpack, even though no backpack was found on him or anywhere near him when he was arrested. There was literally zero evidence. But they sent him to Rikers for 3 years, hoping he would confess to something that everyone knew he didn't do. He never confessed. And it broke him.

Residents of Key West, Florida voted to limit cruise ships to 1500 passengers a day. This upset the wealthy pier operator, so he donated $1 million to Ron DeSantis’s campaign. DeSantis repaid the favor by signing a bill to overturn the local residents.

Appropriate that anti-Israel protesters in New York disrupted the Thanksgiving parade and defaced the Public Library. Gratitude for living in a civil and tolerant country, and supporting the chance for all to read and learn—both stand for what the protesters ultimately hate.

Waxwings: The Drunk Birds of the World
When waxwings eat fermented fruit, they can become quite drunk. They may lose their coordination, fly erratically, and even pass out. In some cases, waxwings have even been known to die from alcohol poisoning.
Wise passers-by are often seen collecting drunk waxwings from sidewalks and putting them in safe places until they sober up to protect them from predators and other hazards.
