Picked up a tutoring gig. I am horrified by the quality of high school chemistry textbooks.
Also, some teachers are waaaay too restrictive when trying to prevent cheating.
I understand not letting students keep exams (I do that in my college classes). But not letting students keep their study guides is just cruel. And, since they work the study guides at home, where they have cameras and can make copies, not returning those study guides is useless to prevent cheating, but punishes less advantaged students.
