Predictably, Elon is escalating from his attack on the ADL league to Color of Charge, Center for Countering Digital Hate, GLAAD, MoveOn, CAP and Media Matters.

Pretty much anyone who's against hate is his enemy.

It's good the President is wearing a mask indoors and around others. But he should also be telling everyone else that it’s important to wear a high quality mask right now, because #COVID is not over and still causing death and chronic illness.

Simple calculation. If you pack solar panels on the giant flat roofs of shopping malls (and maybe add them as shade covers on the giant parking places AND add some big storage batteries, you can offer FREE charging for all EVs, cover most of the power usage of the complete shopping mall and on good days even sell electricity to the grid. Well... School just started & 3 out of 30 children in my 5th grader's class have already tested positive for COVID. 😷

Took my MIL and FIL to the eye doctor this morning. We were the only 3 with masks on in the whole place. My MIL has a low platelet count and has had to wear a mask since way before COVID. People are assholes.

Someone accused me of doing a sponsored post and disguising it as one of my facts. I can assure you that if a company ever pays me to write one of these stupid facts you will know. I will be bragging about it for months. I will frame that check and make a picture of that dirty money my banner on here.

No one is going to argue the #ADL is perfect, certainly not me. That said, the attacks on the ADL I'm seeing on the Fediverse aren't nuanced critiques of ADL policy or actions, but are predominantly the same types of rhetoric seen against any Jews who speak out against hate they experience:

They're "Pro-Israel" (by which they mean don't want to see Israel destroyed)

"They're racist" (I've yet to see anything racist the ADL has said, but am open to reading it), etc.

The other question one should ask is what other organization representing a marginalized group do you see that has so much criticism lobbied against it from people outside the group itself?

When you see that kind of criticism lobbied at a group representing marginalized people, how do you feel about the ones doing the critiquing and or calling for the group to be disbanded or destroyed?

If ad hominem attacks on other groups makes you uncomfortable, the same should hold true of the ADL.
