Ok, this shouldn't needed to be said, but it does not matter what anyone is holding or doing when ICE or police kill them. It's still murder and it cannot be justified. Fascists have worked hard to get us to accept murders by authorities if the victim is BIPOC, disabled, poor, queer, or trans by shifting the conversation from murder is wrong to murder is justified if the person looks threatening or has a criminal record.

Please stop falling for that fascist tactic.

Perhaps it's a glitch caused by the length of the internet cable along the seafloor between Europe and the US, but I am having no problem finding video films of the US secret police executing people on the street, but every problem finding video clips of Biden, Obama, Clinton and Bush standing on the street, upholding their oath to defend their fellow citizens and the constitution.

Something that's just totally wild to me is how on-point the metaphors of Hydra from Marvel Comics and the MCU are.

Like...

1. It's been around forever, and keeps coming back: Revolution, Civil War, Nazis, and now...
2. Hydra infiltrates critical institutions: SHIELD, ICE, FBI, government, corporations
3. It presents freedom as chaos and itself as stability and management.
4. It operates in decentralized cells with a shared worldview: Proudboys, Republican Party, KKK
5. It uses plausible deniability to make its enemies look like villains
6. Run by elites, but enabled by apathy and fear
7. Hydra is redundant, compartmentalized, and regenerates.
8. Hydra targets terrorists, then criminals, then illegals, then extremists, then subversives, then undesirables.

The comics were literally basically like, "The Nazi's are made of the same (types of) people as before, and the same people will come back, and here's what to look for."

It would be useful for reporters writing about Trump's preposterous "Board of Peace" to mention one country that is definitely not a member: the United States.

Trump doesn't have the power to join it. Any international treaty requires the vote of two-thirds of the Senate.

Hey y’all, you remember about a year back when I said #DOGE was doing some sketchy shit at the #SSA, and that records were being manipulated, and that there was some weird network traffic suggesting that the newly installed #starlink was sending data where it shouldn’t?

Yeah.

We still don’t know who the 1000 people directly targeted were, but as my cleanly wiped SSA record can show, there has been collateral damage, as I’m nowhere near important. But I’ve been working since 1980, and my earning record is blank.

Terabytes of data was exfiltrated, we don’t know to whom, we don’t know how much the DOGE operatives were paid, we don’t know who now has the data, but the #DOJ response is that these guys might have their hand slapped, but probably not even that.

The #US has finalized its withdrawal from the #WorldHealthOrganization, one year after #Trump announced the US was ending its 78-yr-old commitment….

But it’s hardly a clean break.

The US owes >$130 million to the global #health agency, according to #WHO. And Trump admin officials acknowledge that they haven’t finished working out some issues, such as lost access to data from other countries that could give America an early warning of a new #pandemic.
