Denmark's foreign minister has summoned the U.S. ambassador after Donald Trump appointed Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry the United States' special envoy to Greenland.
Jeff Landry is not accredited as an envoy to Greenland and doesn't hold any other form of diplomatic status in the Kingdom of Denmark. The Greenlandic home rule government demanded respect for its borders. Denmark's intelligence services described U.S. as a potential threat to its national security.
