Just heard from my contact at Job Corps that they’re losing all funding and shutting down. This is/was a federal (D of Labor) program providing career training in the trades for low-income youth. The program in Long Beach also offered housing, which in El Lay is even more valuable than the training. So now they’re in the position of helping participants find places to live so they don’t end up on the streets. It was never about waste fraud or abuse.
