@mike This seems to be a murky question as under the Posse Comitatus Act a federalized Nation Guard would be very restricted within the US unless the Insurrection Act is invoked. However it seems likely the use of the Insurrection Act when there’s no insurrection would be struck down by the courts. What happens while that is happening though… ?

Once federalized under Title 10, the National Guard becomes active-duty military personnel, just like the Army. It would be the use of military force against the state's wishes and without a clear need.

It strips away the governor's authority and puts control squarely in the President’s hands, for a situation he is far removed from, involving people he doesn't know.

The playbook is easy to spot. It’s top-down, unilateral, and involves provocation. That's how you recognize it.

Trump keeps talking about "rioters and looters". In the news coverage I've seen, there's no evidence of either here in L.A. What you are seeing is outraged individuals trying to stop his masked Gestapo from destroying good people's lives.
