When Jewish students put forward the motion “Jewish students have a right to belong to the ANU community," they were met with other students doing Nazi salutes and mimicking Hitler mustaches at an ANU student union meeting.
This motion, along with all others made by the Jewish students, was struck down.
Australian National University (ANU) has said they are launching an investigation but, even though performing a Nazi salute in a public place is illegal under Australian law, I honestly have little hope at this point that anything will be done.

For Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to call to your attention the Educator Assistance Act, a bill designed to soften the stranglehold of contracts that teachers are forced to sign when they gain employment in our public schools.
In very few industries are these types of employment contracts so one-sided. This bill gives teachers more flexibility to get out of these contracts without fear of losing their certification to teach.
It passed the SC House unanimously a year ago but is stuck in the SC Senate, not even having gotten out of committee. The last day of session is THIS THURSDAY. They need to act now before it's too late. It's the least our state can do for our wonderful educators.
