#DidYouKnow ?

If you ask Rick Astley for his copy of the movie Up, he cannot give it to you as he will never give you up. However, in doing so he lets you down. Thus creating the Astley Paradox

[THREAD] I am reading The Woman and The Car, A Chatty Little Handbook for All Women Who Motor or Who Want to Motor by Dorothy Levitt, circa 1909 and it is TOO DELICIOUS not to share with you.

Miss Levitt is known to automotive history as the inventor of the rear view mirror. In her day she was famed as a speed racer of boats and cars, who taught British Queen Alexandra and the princesses how to drive.

She felt women should not have to rely on male chauffeurs or mechanics but be independent.

Some old blackhouses in the Scottish Highlands weight their thatch down with stones. These ones made me think of those theme park rides where people dangle from a track.

That one in the front has just seen what's coming.

WHO: "Five years, 10 years, 20 years from now, what are we going to see in terms of cardiac impairment, pulmonary impairment, neurologic impairment? It’s year five in the pandemic, but there’s still a lot we don’t know about it."

A prominent doctor asked
“5 years,
10 years,
20 years from now,
what are we going to see
in terms of
cardiac impairment,
pulmonary impairment,
neurologic impairment?”
and while I do not know
the answer to that question
I imagine our response
will be to deny we are seeing it.

For those of you that have never seen a truly dynamic duo here ya go

I had some fun with Snooty today. Who knew you could carry a in a Sashbag?! Doesn’t he look like he’s smiling in that second picture?!

@GottaLaff Sherrod Brown is running neck and neck with Frank LaRose, Ohio's atrocious Secy of State. LaRose is well known for attempted voter suppression and has worked tirelessly to defeat popular citizen initiatives on abortion and gerrymandering.
The race should not be this close. We need Brown in the Senate. As a former Ohioan in a blue state I'll be supporting Sherrod Brown from afar. For the sake of democracy I urge others to do the same if they can.

The time has come for Roger Stone and his Nixon tattoo to go to prison.

Looking towards the cold snap in he south, but it’s difficult when it will be 70 degrees today.

I’m a Katie Porter fan, but this got my attention. In a very good way.

“Adam #Schiff is calling for a major overhaul of American institutions, including getting rid of the Electoral College, expanding the Supreme Court and eliminating the filibuster.”
