The European Commission has greenlit Hungary's €900 million advance from a frozen recovery fund, thereby bypassing Budapest's veto of aid to Ukraine, as reported by Reuters.

The agency notes that the EC had initially removed Hungary from the program due to corruption indications and the Orbán government's deviation from democratic principles. Subsequently, Hungary objected to providing 50 billion euros in economic aid to Ukraine.

When I returned to Canada I was sad to find that #Toronto grocery chains generally do not provide the option of recyclable (paper) bags. 😱

Now the city wants to charge us *more* for those awful reusable (still plastic) bags, presumably to encourage us to bring our own 👍

EXCEPT: shut-ins who order-in groceries (like me) are collecting heaps of these damned things 😡
