“It’s become a routine occurrence to see media personalities, think tankers, and others whose large platforms give their rhetoric weight, call for a dictatorship in America.”

We’d better take these people seriously even if they are, well, batshit crazy.

@Danetteb @kcivey @Gigi@kolektiva.social @WearsHats @StillIRise1963 That came out when I was in high school. I think my first album was Cat Stevens “Tea for the Tillerman.”

What I as a white person understand about the Aboriginal Voice To Parliament is that a YES result means something changes, and a NO result means nothing changes. The current situation is unacceptable, so I’m voting YES.

@Danetteb @kcivey @Gigi@kolektiva.social @WearsHats @StillIRise1963 I still have all my old 45s. My husband would not put any of them in his jukebox. Harumph!

DOG WHISTLE POLITICS

Republicans don’t say they hate Jews. They say George Soros backed.

Republicans don’t say they hate gay people. They say groomers.

Republicans don’t say they hate Hispanic people. They say illegal aliens.

Republicans don’t say they hate Black people. They say ban woke.

Republicans don’t say they hate Asians. They say kung flu.

Be very wary of a political party that consistently uses dehumanizing language. Eventually, they’ll come for you.

Guess he's as delusional as his Cult leader Trump. 🙄😂🤬 -ER

So, from what I understand, McCarthy and Biden are not in “debt ceiling negotiations.” Because the debt ceiling is non-negotiable, we are in Democrat vs. Republican budget negotiations. They are not “getting closer to agreement” on the debt ceiling, they are discussing the details of the budget for the upcoming g year. McCarthy keeps framing it as a debt ceiling duel, but he lost that battle a longtime ago.

@gedeonm It does not deserve the bad reviews it’s gotten this season. This episode was amazing.

With SCOTUS now allowing developers to fill in wetlands, people who live in places not currently considered flood risks are in for a bit of a surprise when the waters rise.

There are consequences when judges ignore science in favor of bribes. People will lose their homes. A lot of people.

Right now, antisemitic incidents are at a record high in America.

It's despicable. And silence is complicity.

Under my presidency, we’ll continue to condemn hate wherever it rears its head, including by putting forward the first-ever national strategy to combat antisemitism.

Just a reminder that the same people who protested removing #confederate statues from places of honor because they wanted to "preserve history" are the exact same people who want to remove #books from #schools and #libraries where they belong because they make certain people uncomfortable.

How will the #Fediverse break #Meta’s monopoly on social media?

Same way the IESA broke IBM’s monopoly on PCs.

Same way HTML5 broke Adobe’s monopoly with Flash.

Same way open Internet standards broke Microsoft’s monopoly with Internet Explorer.

Open standards and protocols have a habit of breaking monopolies.

@realTuckFrumper I wonder what his truth is. And forgiveness to whom for what?
