There were multiple-casualty shootings yesterday in Dadeville, Alabama, and Louisville, Kentucky.
In 2020, Alabama's homicide rate was 14.2 per 100,000. Kentucky's was 9.5. Yet House Republicans are having their violent crime hearing Monday in New York--where the rate was 4.7.

Sadly the key word here is “some.” I would love a major movement of Christians to actually promote the message of “The Sermon on the Mount,” but a national progressive group getting other progressive people to express disapproval of hard right wingers is, well, preaching to the choir.
I am atheist, and I marvel at how often I’m clearly more Christian than so many Christians.
@JaneRLaForge You’re right. It’s the oldest argument in #Education. I’ve avoided it by teaching anything EXCEPT elementary. Now I’m tutoring elementary students in literacy and the ones being taught only phonetics are suffering.
