This International Women’s Day kinda feels like a slap in the face. Why? Because America has taken drastic steps back in women’s rights of late.

1) In 2022 women lost their fundamental right to control their own bodies with Dobbs and numerous states have since banned abortions and moved to ban common forms of birth control.
2) In the past few months we’ve seen outright legal attacks on the ability of trans-women to simply exist. Trans-women are women.
3) In 2022 the pay gap got worse for women.

@GottaLaff One of the things the media needs to do is properly frame the changes. These aren’t tax increases, ( #Biden ) they are the removal of tax breaks and subsidies to corporations and high income earners. It is restoring the fairness of the tax system.

A huge loophole was put in this law. If a county clerk opposes a marriage based on race, they do not have to file it on record.

the policing of who is allowed into the class labelled woman is, and always will be a tool of patriarchy. From Sojourner Truths "ain't I a woman" speech through to disabled women being treated as sexless, admission into womanhood is both reward and tool of control.
When cis women use that tool they are reinforcing the very mechanisms which keep them in chains.
