I recently presented on the history of edtech, remindjng teachers that disruptions happen in education, and unfortunately it takes 30 years to become ubiquitous in the classroom.

My main example was the pencil. It upended years of curriculum and assessments that were implemented orally.

Twenty years after the mass produced pencil’s introduction teachers were calling for the built in eraser to be banned.
