How’s this for good news?! apple.news/Awa6EIvzeQmijGLv5L6 Trump Organization found guilty on multiple counts of criminal tax fraud

The profits of ExxonMobil, Chevron, BP and Shell have skyrocketed by 169% so far this year to $125 billion.

While you were paying through the nose at the gas pump, Big Oil companies were using the cover of inflation to line their pockets.

It's time for a windfall profits tax.

Fellow #EduTooter @edutooters Not sure if I shared this with you, but you may find it helpful if you’re are still using the “stock” or “official” Mastodon app. This is a list of alternatives I have tried myself and enjoyed using. Share as you like, boost, or retoot/post.

Some have mentioned there are other great apps. I know about @ivory (iOS) @megalodon (Android) but if you’re using something amazing on your device, please share back. This is a teaser image from an upcoming blog entry at #TCEA #TechNotes #blog blog.tcea.org but it’s not out yet (written, done, scheduled but it won’t come out until later this month).

Hey there, fedi-land.  I'm trying to assemble a solid list of maker/creator folks and organizations to follow who regularly post pictures/articles/videos about their projects.

Anybody got any grist for the mill out there?

OTD in 1865, the United States adopted the 13th amendment & nearly abolished slavery. Yes, nearly. The 13th Amendment left open slavery and indentured servitude as punishment for a crime. They don’t teach us this in school, but America never fully abolished slavery. That’s truly horrifying.

Congress must abolish unpaid prison labor & truly abolish slavery and indentured servitude in America. We must uphold justice as the supreme standard in all manners. That is how we form a more perfect Union.

At this rate I think it might be easier to make a list of who will NOT be referred.

The way the world is today, I keep thinking of a short story I read years ago called “All The Last Wars at Once.” I hope it isn’t apocryphal, but you should decide for yourselves. docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid

@edutooters @DavidKnuffke @aus_teach @scerruti The only thing “fundamentally broken” in education is how it has become a) standardized test driven and b) being run by businessmen instead of educators.

Ruh-roh! Muskrat’s in hot water.

Elon #Musk’s Neuralink, a medical device company, is under federal #investigation for potential animal-welfare violations amid internal staff complaints that its animal testing is being rushed, causing needless suffering and deaths, according to documents. #legal

@BrentToderian So far it appears everyone can see it. Even if they’re not following the person to whom you’re replying.

This is what’s wrong with a bunch of folks who have migrated from Twitter. They can’t let go. So far it seems to be an issue with people who are well-known and have thousands of followers over there. They simply copy their tweets and paste them here, usually still with the tweet address and often “RT” at the beginning.

Do you know what I dislike most on social media (particularly Facebook)? People use it to whine and complain about silly little things. And they use it to wish a “happy heavenly birthday” to people who are dead and not reading social media.

I don’t care.

@giascott Pronunciation is the final thing to master in another language. Keep pushing though!

I’m still undecided about this whole retirement thing. I really need to be teaching someone something.
