I was gardening yesterday (it's LA) and a father and his 2 children were walking down the sidewalk and wished me Merry Christmas. I congenially (it's true) replied Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah (it's Pavlovian) and wondered if that might be a tad extra. Until I heard the little girl ask her father, "What's Hanukkah"?
How do you respond?
@cindyweinstein I've gotten into the habit of always responding to "Merry Christmas" with "Chag sameach."
@AlliFlowers @cindyweinstein I hope a lot of people aren’t going to see this here and start saying that IRL the way it looks like it would be pronounced in English. That would be sad.
