@chris One of the Republican’s top goals is to completely destroy public education. The Constitution guarantees a FAPE, but it doesn’t have to be the best. 😡

@AlliFlowers @chris Where exactly does the US Constitution guarantee free and public education? (I assume that is what's meant by FAPE)

@black6 That is correct. FAPE is a civil right rooted in the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution, which includes the Equal Protection and Due Process clauses. FAPE is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations (7 CFR 15b. @chris

@AlliFlowers @chris Yah, I hate to be that guy, but the words "free" and "education" do not appear in the 14th Amendment, and the word "public" is there only in reference to debt.

The CFR is not the Constitution.
@AlliFlowers @chris I think you're confusing the "equal protection of the laws" preventing segregation or discrimination in schools with a mandate to provide education.

@black6 Nope. Ed law classes. If I have time, I’ll pull up citations for ya later, or you could check your own law reference library. @chris

@AlliFlowers @chris Read the rambling rhetoric of lawyers retroactively reinterpreting the foundational writings of our waning republic?

Color me uninterested.
@AlliFlowers @chris What do you call a thousand lawyers buried up to their necks in sand?

Not enough sand.
