@AlliFlowers I don’t think there’s anybody arguing against Jews’ right to be there. But that does not give them the right to evict and kill the other people that are there at the moment.

And one is as likely as the other.  They are crushingly poor, have no army, no air force, no navy, and are up against the richest most heavily armed nation in the Mediterranean and the Middle East.

You can find the full text here https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Declaration_of_Independence_(Israel) but I'll grab the key point for you: "[The State of Israel] will foster the development of the country for the benefit of all its inhabitants; it will be based on freedom, justice and peace as envisaged by the prophets of Israel; it will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations."

Hamas is absolutely arguing the Jew's right to be there. When you hear chanted at all the Pro-Palestinian demonstrations "From the River to the Sea..." you are hearing a call for the elimination of Jews from Israel.
