@AlliFlowers AIUI, there was a fair number of American voters who failed to vote for Ms Harris because they were afraid the MAGAts who get all violent and stuff if ShitGibbon lost.
I guess they would rather be shit upon than face crazy angry idiots.
@RickiTarr when I hear people call themselves a founder I think of the intransitive verb
Sitting in the Morning Sun
In the water off the beach at Gulfport, Mississippi, there are several timber piles, reaching up out of the water a hundred meters or so offshore. Birds use them to rest on, particularly the birds who dive for their food. This silhouetted bird appears to be a brown pelican (Pelecanus occidentalis).

@georgetakei Who even goes to ShitFilet? I do not want to meet those people.
@talia_christine Shitgibbon will be the first to issue an executive order to revoke a pardon. SCotUS will uphold the order.
Then, some day, they will realize that the worms are out of the can.
@noondlyt Do you still type that name? I use various alternatives, like “Individual-ONE” or “CFSG” or many others. I refuse to type or write “T***p”. If I have to, I will use Доналдь Трамп.
@ppxl Imagine there's no ShitGibbon
It's easy if you try
No MAGAt bullshit below us
Above us clear blue sky
@Gorfram @JessTheUnstill And make airlines pay for airport/tower service.
I have done many 44 hour trips on Amtrak, a few of which turned into 60 hour trips, but, I personally had no regrets. My feel has been that they need multiple trains on those long hauls: some cities get 3am service: if there were several trains, they could alternate the smaller stops, improving net speed with fewer stops, and provide service at a reasonable hour.
@StefanThinks Keep at it. Shitposting is an art, and also a bit of luck. Someday, you will get that meme that explodes like a fucked couch.
@bamfic @scentedmeat @kims @noondlyt We did have a 67% majority in the Senate, back in 2009. But we had that one Senator from Montana who fought tooth-and-nail against the Public Option. We need more than just a supermajority.
@TheEddieShow The MAGAts want to take the country back. Backwards. Like, two centuries. I say we take the country back about 80 years – when Americans were being encouraged to, um, defeat NAZIs.
(“Defeat” was not the verb I wanted to use, but one must be circumspect.)
Fuck Maye Musk and her Grotesque offspring.

I'm going to break my personal rule about not talking about politics this morning because this election for president is so, so critical and if we get it wrong it could change our way of life. So, if you are a citizen of the United States of America and are 18 years of age or over, please go vote.
If you want my advice: vote for decency, vote for democracy, vote for sanity, vote for stability, vote for reality, vote for truth, vote for kindness, vote for the earth, vote for the country, vote for freedom.
My wife and I are planning to go vote this Monday. Early voting started in Louisiana yesterday. I'll keep who we're voting for private, but she is not an insane, cruel dancing clown in a blue suit and red tie.

@christymarx @ct_bergstrom Well, you need to read Marzluff’s Gifts of the Crow. It is quite interesting, and besides teaching me about corvids, it also incidentally explained dreaming.
Mockingbird on Mystic Branches
I saw this northern mockingbird (Mimus polyglottos) on this rather interesting looking tree, while looking out the window of my hotel room at the ocean last year at Gulfport Mississippi. I took the picture through the window. It turned out okay, don't you think?

Bright Yellow Bird in the Wild
Here is a photo of a female scarlet tanager (Piranga olivacea). Unfortunately, the chance that I have of seeing one of these around here is during migration. These birds are members of the family Cardinalidae and are closely related to cadinals, buntings, and grosbeaks.
I don't post all of the photos that I post here to my Pixels gallery, but I post the photos I like best. Some don't make the cut. I usually wait a couple of days and see how I feel about it then.

@Swede1952 I keep seeing people tooling down the road on one-wheeled powered devices. There is that thing that is like a center-wheel skateboard, but I have also seen straddled wheel machines, and the rider is just casually riding down the road at 20+ mph.
But, of course, those are not classic unicycles.
