The more women assert their independence and strength, the bigger the pushback. It's always been that way. We are criticized more and more harshly for things that men are excused and praised for. We break barriers, and the pushback is often personal and cruel, even from our own families. You know what? That makes me just want to push back more. Call me too old, too independent, too whatever. I don't care. I'll be 100 and still feel this way. Enough already.
