12. Under current law, that may be right. So let's change the laws. But when you're driving down the highway and see a car coming towards you, the responsible thing to do is to swerve - not to argue that you aren't allowed to drive in the other lane. /fin

Kinda odd that Yevgeniy Prigozhin was the subject of days of wall-to-wall press coverage and while I there were some references to his involvement in the Internet Research Agency, I didn't see any mention of the fact that he's under a felony indictment in the US for conspiring to get #Trump elected.

My Administration has created more jobs in two years than any previous administration has created in the first four years.

“In the Allen decision, the court effectively found that the state’s congressional lines likely violated the landmark piece of civil rights legislation. Even though Black people make up roughly a quarter of Alabama’s population, just one of the state’s seven congressional districts is majority Black — which the challengers attributed to racial gerrymandering.”

If you remember the Civil War was fought in the South’s perspective not in the name of pro-slavery, but in the name of State’s Rights, the “right to be bad if we want to”. 🙄 The same thinking that insisted on segregation, and today, hostility towards The Voters Rights Act throwing up multiple roadblocks in the way of convienent voting.

Laurillard (2012, p. 222) on teachers and tools. I agree with the sentiment, can't think of many examples from #highered

"...tools have provided the major engine of human development, because they improve the efficiency of human effort (Wolpert 2003). Teachers, as much as any other profession, need custom-built digital tools to help them with their ever more complex working environment. They deserve better support from digital technology."

3/ "2nd factor favoring non-prosecution of Clinton, acc to Midyear team, was that her emails were always used for official purposes..

Same cannot be said for the 337 docs w classific markings Trump took to MAL. Every 1 of them was, by definition, removed for an unofficial, non-gov'tal purpose. Indeed, Trump has publicly emphasized this point, declaring in interviews that docs were his personal property & that he had every right to take them. That makes 674 reasons to distinguish the 2 cases"

Oppressive 100F heat for weeks, with the prospect of months to come, The garden relies on us and watering to stay alive. The electrical grid is reported under stress, I hate thinking about electrical failure and loss of AC, pondering why I failed to install a natural gas Generac System. Is it too late? At the time I was just thinking of Hurricanes. 🤔

I was just talking to a neighbor -- who's absolutely lovely, biblically nice guy -- and had to explain this fact.

Black and Latinx folks aren't categorically poorer because we're "dumb". That's just how the country was set up.

When it comes to white supremacy, some folks attribute "intelligence" to what is actually "insidiousness"
