The Russian soldier reported that they had machine gunners and were instructed to shoot indiscriminately, killing children, women, men, locals, and non-locals. They went into houses and shot everyone inside. In one day, they killed at least 400 people and destroyed the town of Kremenna.

@Huntn00
There will be some more political violence from the extremists on the right I suspect, but there's no way around it without allowing them to use that threat to further undermine our rule of law.

It sucks, but hopefully we'll survive through it fairly well and it will be relatively short-lived.

Florida freedom is:

The ability of the state to kidnap trans children
The ability to search children’s genitals
The ability to ban books
The ability to run over protesters
The ability to lose billions in business
The ability to have a private militia publicly funded
The ability to imprison doctors who give medical care
And declaring war on the LGBTQ community

The NAACP is right. More organizations need to warn about the dangers of traveling to or doing business with Florida.

For those of us that enjoy schadenfreude despite whatever character flaw(s) that might indicate, the orange chump's social media posts this weekend are delicious. It seems clear that he's finally coming to grips with the distinct possibility that he'll be spending his twilight years behind bars.

@Huntn00 @caragraph I know numerous rural/southern people who are definitely not ok with it.

@Huntn00 when I moved back to Georgia from Asheville to help my son (I rented his house) he warned me not to put up any yard signs or display any bumper stickers, advised me to register as an independent voter, and admonished me to not engage in any political discussions.

Not all of us who are rural are okay with it, but we understand they have guns and are not afraid or unwilling to use them. They are belligerent in the extreme, often itching for a fight, maybe drunk or high, and certainly not reasonable.

Even my neighbors understand they have to be cautious. He spoke out against the maggots a few years back, was immediately fired, and hasn't been employed since.

It's not as clear cut as it seems

'In the span of a month during the winter of 2020, Zackey Rahimi was involved in 5 shootings around Arlington, #Texas. He shot at someone’s house after selling them prescription narcotics. After getting into a car accident, he shot at a car, returned in another vehicle and shot at the car again. Three days before Christmas, he shot at a constable’s car. And after New Year’s, he fired shots into the air outside a Whataburger after his friend’s credit card was declined." (1/4)

@Huntn00 @flexghost Great questions. Next time I see my Mormon relatives I will ask. There's a graduation party in June, so I will have a chance. They are SUPER Mo's and are always telling me how wonderful their church is and all the great things it does. I will have to find a non-aggressive way to ask.

The worst part about today’s GOP, better said Slimey Newt’s GOP that has lived on since the 90’s , is that they try hard to pretend they are patriots, defenders of democracy and the Constitution while continuously working to undermine it for the sake of their hold on power. The biggest threat to them is truth, it’s their liability. “We don’t need no stink’n truth.”
