But they didn't, letting down the veterans from the Spanish Civil War (which is the war the originator of the quote fought and died in, by the way) who supported the allies by joining their armies or the French resistance after fleeing the country.

As a California native I know what you mean about plants struggling and having to hide from the burn. I now live in the midwest and don't have that issue, but I know the pain well! Hopefully temps start to fall for you soon so you can take more time to enjoy what you're growing!
