With the half the season gone, I know I want to photograph my garden as much as possible to carry me through the long winter months when there are no bumblebees or butterflies to be spied from the kitchen window. I love living in a place with seasons, but fresh roses, cosmos, dahlias, zinnias, and other floriferous joys are sorely missed when the cooler weather starts to drag on.
So here's a little reminder to myself and anyone else out there this week that if you have a chance to take a moment to stop and smell the roses, take it. And maybe take a photo or five, too.

@theandreaborden Beautiful! Right now I’m wishing I was not living in an oven for the last 2+ months. We sneak out in the morning and around dusk to survey, tinker with the plants and weeds, many of the former struggling and would be gone if not for our attention which mostly includes generous doses of water. Some plants are amazing in their ability to withstand the burn. 🤔

WWII was fought to take down fascism and after that were several decades of moving in a better direction, at least my perception. But for 40 yrs in the USA, we are witnessing how the Right Wing is no longer supporting democratic principles, but moving towards fascism, dystopia, cheat to win, destroy the concept of equality in all its applications. So the struggle continues.🤔
