@bloodravenlib During the knuckle dragger days, the tribe benefited from chest thumping macho men. In modern life, is it a surprise women are taking over in market place leadership? Something about nuanced, considerate, big picture, multiple avenue considerations to find the best solution. Something women as historically less physical, second class citizens have much practise with. The Onion origin of the article is noted. 🥸

While Iowa has been in a drought for three years, state agencies have a new tool to better identify the slow-moving phenomenon and respond to its effects. Published in January, the Iowa Drought Plan provides guidance to address #drought in #Iowa.
The plan was developed through an interagency effort with support from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Midwest Climate Hub and National Drought Mitigation Center.

@MKSinSA As long as they have adequate water, which is not excessive, the roses are sturdy to the sun,heat and blooming nicely. However, generally it seems like with this kind of heat plants are liking more shade. I’ve got some succulents I have moved into mostly shade, some into the kitchen because they were burning up. Did you hear about cactus dieing in Arizona due to the intense heat? 😳

@Huntn00 Capitalism with such regulations on corporations, monopolies, and wealth is called socialism. Plus, of course, we need environmental protection, and protective labour laws. All of which the CONservatives want to eliminate to allow unrestricted laissez-faire capitalism to take hold here.
