The United States Supreme Court has already spoken, humiliating the state in front of the nation. But our lawmakers in Montgomery have no sense of shame. As they redraw the maps, again, these lawmakers have learned nothing. link.al.com/view/5efe4c2042ce8

"Well after the failed SARS reports, bank records, form 10-23," Raskin quipped, "we can conclude that this Inspector Clouseau-style quest for something that doesn't exist has turned our Committee into a theater of the absurd; an exercise in futility and embarrassment." rawstory.com/biden-raskin/

@Jey_snow Not really, it’s simple awareness or general knowledge that in the realm of God/Jesus there are Catholics and those not Catholic- Lutheran, Presbyterian, Babptist, etc. As far as people in Germany who describe themselves as protestant, I don’t know other than they are saying they are not Catholic? Or maybe they don’t want to divulge more than that. 🤔

@nuclearanthro Don’t consider this a critical reply, just an observation that humans when it comes to technology do whatever can be achieved. It’s in our nature and morality takes a back seat especially when we feel threatened. “If we don’t do it, someone else will.” We do what we are capable of doing. It’s a good argument as to why as a species, we are not well suited to successfully navigate The Great Filter. astronomy.com/science/the-grea

Nuclear weapons, & militarized systems of power and dominance that enable & build off of them, are not the result of some predetermined human nature.

Living like this is a choice we have made and that we make daily and that we can change. We can choose differently.

@Teri_Kanefield @jobsboils I don’t think we enjoy dealing with reality, and we have enough technical distractions these days to live in the fantasy of our choosing. As a species, I think we’re too selfish to make it collectively.

@Litzz11 It depends. . I definitely won’t see it in the theater, but will likely stream it if the reviews are worthy. A movie like this can be stupid or have an intriguing plot/angle. That remains to be seen.
Why did we care about the anthropomorphized toys in Toy Story? It becomes a pseudo- human interest story we found we can relate to. 🙂 A link online speculates a possibility: “Barbie suffers a crisis that leads her to question her world and her existence.”

Dear POTUS, The Justice Department, and the FCC. By eliminating the Paramount Decrees, you have made way for the strikes and shutdown of our industry. That was an antiquated antitrust law that held back studios and streamers from forming monopolies. They are now crushing labor because there is no competition—there is no recourse to their demands. Please reinstate or better your antitrust laws for the entertainment industry.

@TheConversationUS Rolling back the minimum work age, besides Exhibit No.1, the outright corrupt, unleashing, deregulating of the Capitalist economic system many in power and with great wealth worship, this is a close second confirming the desire of the GOP as a political force to march us back to the 19th Century when Tycoons lived larger than life, and unregulated Capitalism kept the majority on meager living status to support the gluttons among us. 🤔

Lewis Wickes Hine photographed oppressive working conditions of thousands of children in the early 20th century. The black-and-white photographs suggest a bygone era – an embarrassing past that many Americans think we’ve left behind.

But with numerous reports of #childlabor violations, many involving #immigrants, and an uptick in state's rolling back the minimum working age – Hine’s work is as relevant as it was a century ago.
