@dsacer As you can tell (maybe 😉) I’m pro-environment, but tend to be pessimistic, especially with Nov2024 looming. I’m glad this is happening, so did you say the rules cover agriculture too?

@dsacer Thanks! Does it consider biological sources of methane due to agriculture? I guess I could read the report, if you think it would be worth my time. Or I could read a summary. 😉 Group awareness is the first step,. And it is Not helping is that I’ve become a pessimist about the prognosis for the Earth in the hands of Humanity as we seem most likely to burn it and sell it, before succumbing to our nature. 😑

@Huntn00 it's about reporting the release of methane into the atmosphere during extraction of oil and gas. It's not a restriction on extraction.

Notable it appears to allow super-emitter notifications from sources other than satellites:
"The method used during by the notifier to quantify the emissions (satellite detection;
remote-sensing equipment on aircraft; mobile monitoring platform; other, specify; or unknown)."
