@breadandcircuses In conversations with online friends whom I normally agree with but there is a split as they bend over backwards to excuse Israel’s bad/murderous behavior. The Hamas attack on Israel was inexcusable, and needs to be countered forcefully. Just show some respect for Palestinian lives. As you or someone said “Two war crimes Wrongs don’t make a Right” As is, quite the bloody bed they are making for themselves. My hope is not all Israel’s are of a like mind.
@VulcanTourist @breadandcircuses You saw the reports that despite multiple warnings regarding the original attack, Netanyahu went on vacation. I can almost see the wheels turning in his Right Wing head.
@Jasper @breadandcircuses I did not say 100%, make serious attempt. Killing Palestinians running for their lives is too convenient too easy, this appears to be the preferred tactic. Oh look a suspicious ambulance, blow it up. A group huddling in a refuge camp, bomb it. We told them to move, like where? Multiple reports of “Israel designated” safe havens bombed. Not killing women and children is inconvenient especially if you think they are all guilty. (Cont)
Ok, you claim a lot here based on conjecture. How do you know, that it wasn't ACTUALLY Hamas fighters in the Ambulance? How do you know, it wasn't a mistaken Target? How do you know, the IDF didn't try? Do you know the casualty numbers are correct? We know hamas lied abut them at least once.
But lets assume they are. End of October 3000 out of 8000 killed were minors. Gaza median age is 18, meaning half of the pop. Is older, half is younger. So minors are statistically under representet which indicates IDF takes some measures at least.
Hamas doesn't, we know Haniyeh said they need the blood of children and women as a moral boost and Hamas kept people from leaving evacuation zones which in addition of Hamas quatering in dense civil neighbourhood makes it harder for IDF to avoid collaterals.
So I assume the number of killed minors is too high for your liking, what level is adequate to you and how would you reduce towards it?
@Jasper @breadandcircuses I’m not going to fight with you. It seems to me in your calculation that lots of Palestinian collateral damage is the only way to handle this. Correct me, but you seem to have accepted this as a fact and it’s unfortunate but ok under the circumstances. Just keep pinging on others suggesting moderation. It’s not a good look. 🤔
So, you can't? You criticise something for not being good enough but don't know how to do better? You accuse Israel of murderous behaviour without demonstrating purpose.
I actually have Ideas how the IDF could spare more Pali lives but only at the expense of their own soldiers lives. Idk how many soldiers israel exactly would need to sacrifice to avoid one collateral casualty. This is why I don't feel I am in the position to urge the IDF to do it, like many people, dare I say armchair generals, here seem to feel they are in the position.
I also know how to make sure, that no palestinian child in Gaza will ever become a victim of war again: If Gazans decided they had enough, accepted Israels right to exist and threw out Hamas. This would not go without bloodshed, but far less, and the lives saved are guaranteed.
This is why I feel comfortable to urge Gazans to do it, especially because they voted for Hamas in the first place.
@Jasper @breadandcircuses I’m sorry, but what appears to be willfully slaughtering women and children is I guess ok with you. As I said, you are pinging on those that seek moderation. Stop bending over backwards for this. It’s not a good look for you or supporters of Israel. I’m sure they will reap lots of peaceful coexistence out of this. /S Bottom line your answer is kill away, mine is restraint. You think I feel guilty about this position? 🙄
@Huntn00 @breadandcircuses
And how do you think the IDF could best forcefully counter Hamas atrocity and be 100% certain that no kids get hurt even though Hamas uses them as human shields?
Would be interested, if you know, please enlighten us!
