@malcircuit That’s a valid view. Other considerations, pay a mortgage or pay a landlord who can up the rent just because; having a space you own can be appealing; you can always sell your house, but they used to be much more affordable for a starter. My first house purchased in 1979 Texas was $40k, while in SanDiego they were $100k. My impression is that many younger people don’t want to be tied down, and the cost of a house is out of reach for many/most of them. 🤔
@malcircuit Zero. And purchased it with a VA loan with zero down and my house payment was $400 monthly. I acknowledge that times have changed. 😬 And college, before then, Syracuse was $1500 a semester. Maybe we should be talking about how wonderful Capitalism is or how difficult it is for humans to devise an economic system that is not self destructive or won’t 🔥 the planet? Admittedly along with my senior status, I’ve become a pessimist about our future as a species. 😓
