In my view, anyone who says we can't expect our representatives to let us have nice things because we have to compromise is selling something.

@woozle @pluralistic Imo the problem is and has been politicians who sell fantasies and the gullible Koolaid drinkers who believe them. For example “we can endlessly cut your taxes without any ramifications”. Here, take $100, oh just ignore the millions of wealthy welfare millionaires we helped out. 🤔

@Huntn00 @pluralistic The problem there is not so much "tax cuts" as it is "tax cuts for people who already have too much money"... and yes, gullible people who believe that this is somehow the best way for resources to be allocated: by giving them to rich people who will then supposedly reallocate them fairly (meanwhile, in reality, they keep it all and use their gain to extract even more).
