The cost of the Strait of Hormuz has been huge and painful, but there is the possibility that it will have been worth it if it results in the transition off of fossil fuels comes decades sooner than it otherwise would have because of this shock to the traditional supply chains.

I look at the changed trajectory of EV sales in countries that have been lagging behind post-Republicans' latest Middle Eastern war as a good sign that there has been some massive, permanent demand destruction for fossil fuels, except coal but that's short-lived.
Also, there has been a lot of new green fertilizer investment since the Strait of Hormuz was closed too.
