Because they fear for their own and their families' safety.

I think they're fearing physical harm equally if not more than being primaried.
When Trump says something negative about someone, death threats follow. There have been instances of arson and swatting. They know the madman's followers include some lone wolves who will take it upon themselves to act on Dear Leader's wishes.
Minnesota is also a message to his remaining followers.
