The #UN_General_Assembly adopted a resolution initiated by #Ukraine and a group of states to strengthen international cooperation and mitigate the consequences of the #Chornobyl catastrophe.

97 countries voted in favour of the resolution, and 39 abstained. The #US, #Russia, #Belarus, #China, #North_Korea, #Nicaragua, and #Niger voted against it.
