How many shootings will it take before people finally realize the problem is THE GUNS???

@AlliFlowers @ai6yr I was going to come up with a list of “recreational” activities that wouldn’t result in killing kids at a baseball game. But the list is… literally everything except GUNS.
@mls14 @AlliFlowers @ai6yr Keep in mind it's Texas...
@W6KME I have a friend in Guam. He has been talking about moving to Texas for years, and is still intent on it. I suggested almost anywhere but Texas.
There may be a cultural diaspora behind the motivation to come to Texas. From https://www.nhpialliance.org/our-communities "States with some of the largest NHPI populations include:
California (361,000)
Washington (94,000)
Texas (73,000)
Florida (55,080)
New York (52,500)
Utah (48,370)"
In the late 90s, I was really surprised to learn there is a relatively large Tongan community in the Dallas area so out of curiosity, I looked at the demographics. Aside from the West Coast, you'd be more likely to find a guamanian/chamorro community in Texas. https://zipatlas.com/us/city-comparison/largest-guamanian-chamorro-community.htm

It basically comes down to a couple that came here to work for American Airlines when DFW Airport was built. It was a cheap place to live then and the economy was booming with good jobs. It has even become tradition to perform the Haka at the high school football games. Oh, and Texas was historically Democrat, with a few exceptions, until the 1980s.
