No, no, no. Comparing the campus protests in the 60’s and the campus protests today is like comparing apples and hedgehogs.
We protested the war in Vietnam because our country was boots on the ground. We lost friends, fathers, husbands, brothers, and sons.
The US is not involved in the war in Gaza. We have no vested interest. It is not our war. The students, particularly at #Columbia, are being incredibly selfish.

@fixiemama If it’s not personal, you have no vested interest. Money is not personal. People are.
@fixiemama If money is what’s most important to you, you do you. May you never have to walk in my shoes.
@AlliFlowers Ha. My point is, you can't use that phrase w/o referring to money, it's literally what vested interest is. Not sure what you mean by walking in your shoes but if you're referring to being afraid of being attacked bc of your religion, I can only reply that the kind of anti-Semitism that exists today is a direct result of Zionism giving people a reason for hatred. Obviously, killing Palestinians to steal more of their land does not lead to peace. So why does it continue?
@AlliFlowers Also, money absolutely is personal, as someone currently not that far from homelessness my fight to scrape together rent this month is very personal 🤓😑
@AlliFlowers What an odd interpretation of vested interest. The US vested interest in Israel is expressed in definition 3 of "vested interest" as per American Heritage:
