Here is a thought experiment for you.
What is the difference between a narcissist and a racist?
What is the functional difference between a person that believes they are important and above others and places others below themselves due to raw selfishness versus a belief that they are important and above others because of their skin color?
I contend there is no difference.

@jeffowski A narcissist believes himself to be above everyone. A racist is picky, and choices a specific group or groups to hold in contempt.

@jeffowski Exactly. He’s not racist, he makes no exceptions. He hates his own cause he believes he’s better than they are. The racist doesn’t hate his own, only “other.”

@AlliFlowers -- And how does that distinction alter or change their behavior, or is it all the same behavior and action?
People want to split hairs over what a narcissist is and what a racist is, but again, my contention is that the activity and manifestation in the world is identical. They both manifest damage upon others.

Follow

@jeffowski The difference is only in their beliefs and the number of people they’ll hurt.

@AlliFlowers -- And see? I don't make a distinction of who is harmed, only that people are harmed as a result of ACTION by the individual, whether that person is labelled a narcissist or a racist. The person that is impacted suffers the same loss regardless of the intention of the actor.
