I wish we’d stop making veterans, but in the meantime….

@Rakielxx71 It’s Veterans’ Day. Not Memorial Day. Do you not want our country to have a military? Once you’ve served, you are a veteran. A lot of us are alive.

@AlliFlowers

I always look forward to these mansplaining comments. My husband served in the 75th airborne ranger LRRP company E in Viet Nam. He was alive until two years ago. Veterans don’t have to be dead to be thanked for their sacrifice. And yes, I wish we didn’t have the military we have or the flag waving bullshit used to seduced the young into serving. But thank you for service. Really.

@Rakielxx71 JFYI, it’s only mansplaining when it comes from a man. Veterans can only be alive to thank them/us, otherwise you’re only thinking about it. Really.

@AlliFlowers

That post was for my brother in law, my husband’s team leader, his buddy who went thru his two year stint together from beginning to end. All war veterans. All alive. It was for my high school friend who served in the airforce in peace time. It was for any veteran, alive or dead. If you want to be obtuse or graceless about it, that’s up to you.
