@Balkingpoints @Bam I am extra tired and fed up today. I was happy for about half a day about the election outcomes. Mine were especially good.
And then I saw someone excusing antisemitic chants as legit resistance and some jagoff pretended not to know how “from the river…” is connected to Jews and then has his own stupid opinion so obviously was gaslighting me.
Same people who were upset about anyone flashing an “ok” sign, even if accidental, cool with Jew hate.

I hate that the OK hand sign was appropriated by the White Supremacists/Proud Boys some years ago, and apparently now it is also a Nazi wink? How can they ruin these...? ✌🏼🤟🏼🤙🏼🖖🏼
@Bam @lolonurse @Balkingpoints It’s really fun for people using ASL, which is a lot of people. Nobody wants to get accused of being a Nazi while signing. But yeah, they ruined it.

We grew up among ASL users and educators (although I've lost almost all of it...I'm old & it was long ago), and it's been interesting & distressing seeing perfectly good signs become appropriated for other purposes. Then again, when I was a hippie chick, rainbows were love and doves were peace... and they were also appropriated. I know, I know... language is fluid... so what sign is now chocolate milk??

I really tried to keep up, and then also not get bypassed by all the new stuff that came along when the kids were young (one's now 52, the other's about to turn 42), and the grandkids... plus keep up with all the advances in medical speak & tech... oh- & video games & animé... I'm surprised I'm actually coherent! I talk dogs, Star Trek, recipes & plants anymore! Verbally.
