Aside from a few extra plants, all the tomatoes I started indoors this year are now in the garden. Here's the list:
Amish Paste Tomato
Aunt Ruby's German Green Tomato
Black Beauty Tomato
Black Cherry Tomato
Black Krim Tomato
Blue Beech Tomato (Organic 85 Days)
Cherokee Purple Tomato
Cherry Bomb Tomato (Organic F1 Hybrid 64 Days )
Gardener's Delight Pole Cherry Tomato
Green Giant Tomato
Kelloggs Breakfast Tomato (Heirloom, 79 Days)
Marianna's Peace Tomato (Heirloom, 85 Days)
Pineapple Tomato
*San Marzano Tomato (Heirloom 82 Days)
Speckled Roman Tomato (81 Days)
Stupice Tomato (Heirloom 65 Days)
*Sungold Cherry
Tumbler Tomato (F1 Hybrid 50 Days)
Yellow Brandywine Tomato (80 Days)
Yellow Pear Tomato
The two marked with * we grew last year. All the others are new to us and for the most part, we have one plant of each kind. With luck we'll be able to do taste comparisons across the whole range and come up with a manageable number of winners to grow next year.
My age (75) probably plays a role, but I find gardening to be filled with life lessons. Reminds me of being a parent too.
But I must run. OllieTheDog just got an invite to go play with his best golden doodle buddy, Oscar, and that's a priority! #tomatoes #gardens #Maine
