@therobburgessshow I'm not so sure about that. As a white GenX person, the people from the conservative suburb of Baltimore I grew up in openly disparaged many of the people that we'd consider to be heroes as villains. They did this well into my adulthood.

The people I knew, both in my ex-family and ex-community were racist as hell and proud of it. What they say around their peers is not necessarily what is said in "mixed company".

They firmly believe they're moral, decent people.
