Each year in the mid summer months, bark lice encase tree trunks in the Houston area with giant, silky webs, bringing Halloween vibes to the area early. Despite their ghastly appearance, the Texas A&M Forest Service says that they're good for trees.

@Chron I’ve never seen it that bad, but have seen it and verified a couple of years ago that it’s not an issue for the tree. 🙂
