So I was browsing the ClearSky app (I know!), and I saw that someone who seems to be a decent person blocked me. Their bio says they're against fatphobia and pro-body positivity. I looked at the timestamp of the block, and then cross-referenced this with posts I made around that time. I couldn't make any definite correlations, but it's possible that my talking about Wegovy and such was taken as fatphobic, or maybe as complicity in fatphobia.
I can't help but think they're right. In some sense taking Wegovy is like saying fat is bad. But the fact is that I don't want to be fat. I don't hold others to the same body standards that I aspire to myself, so I'm not saying that all fat people should take Wegovy. I think it ultimately boils down to your body your choice.
@hyperreal We take these drugs not because we don't want to be fast, but because we do want to be healthy. Being fat is just a symptom of being unhealthy.
@hyperreal I'm currently on Zepbound. No judgement here. But it's way more than just how one looks and what society currently accepts as normal.
@AlliFlowers I know. The focus of my OP was on the weight loss effects.
