I've been toying with having a professional-ish account on here for a while. I started on mastodon on nerdculture and it wasn't a good fit. So I moved over to Beige.Party where I am not very professional. So I'd like to keep it separate.

I'd like a similar vibe to Beige. Small, well moderated, nice people who don't take themselves too seriously. But that would make sense for a psychologist / academic in the non-profit space.

Appreciate any recs and boosts!

@AlliFlowers I've been on 2 different instances and the experience is wildly different in terms of engagement. I look at my instance feed more often than others, it's a nice place that I can retreat to if I want to stay off larger feeds.

@tayfonay Interesting. Even when I first started and was on a big public instance, I never bothered with the local feed. I just carefully curate my follows. @CoachMark

@AlliFlowers great, I enjoy my local feed and would like to replicate that if I can 😊 @CoachMark

@tayfonay @AlliFlowers

Part of the beauty of the Fediverse I guess.

The end user gets to choose how they do it and at what instance they do it from.

Then again, there are pros and cons to everthing.

@AlliFlowers

Likewise, my Home feed is usually plenty lively and interesting enough that it is quite satisfying. When it’s not, it’s usually because I been here too long and should really be doing something else anyway. 🤷‍♂️
