antisemitism

Another Jewish family from my circles is leaving and moving to Israel.

The reason they gave? Too much antisemitism. «I can't even ask for kosher food at the supermarket anymore without the risk of being yelled at and bullied out.»

I hope they wait a while... stuff in Israel is dire right now. Seriously dire.

re: antisemitism

@serge no, they are packed, have a new apartment, a move date… and to many people around here, it seems they would rather be in a war zone than in a community that hates us if we in any way live who we are. Which I find very understandable, honestly.

War is at least a calculable risk, and one is among people who will not rat you out or suddenly kick your door in because you have a mezuzah, or have been asking for kosher food.

@ajewishgirlsvoice My son is making plans to make aliya. I hope he waits, but he’s never been there when there wasn’t some kind of war going on. @serge
