25/ Merchant: Your office objected to us getting Delta records?

Willis: I object because you're intrusive of people's personal lives...You're confused. You think I'm on trial. I'm not on trial, these people on are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020.

26/ I wish I could quote all the great little digs and darts Fani is throwing at this moron lawyer.

27/ Merchant: When did your personal relationship w/ Wade end?

Willis: This year. To be clear, Wade is a friend. I feel very indebted to him for taking this job. He's a mentor and friend.

Romantic relationship ended July or August

28/ Merchant: When did your relationship with Mr. Wade end?

Willis: We are good friends. But for these attacks, maybe we would have stopped being friends as time went on. But now I think we'll be friends for life after this.

Willis says the romantic relationship with Wade ended sometime in late summer 2023, which lines up with the timeline Wade said too.

"Men end relationships at the end of physical intimacy, women end relationships when that tough conversation takes place."

29/ "THIS IS A LIE! THIS IS A LIE!" Fani yells, holding up papers...

After some fireworks between Willis and Trump attorney Steve Sadow, Judge McAfee calls for a 5 min break.

Rubin:

Holding up two different filings, Willis just exclaimed that Merchant lied about purported cohabitation by her and Wade. And McAfee has now ordered that we take a break.

30/ This is REALLY hard to keep up with, guys. Sorry.

31/ We're back.

Judge is talking about decorum, professionalism. Urges everyone to keep in mind.. don't talk over each other. And from there, we'll get thru this.

32/ Fani calls out another lie when Trumpette asked a question. Judge calls Trumpette imprecise.

"He did not live with her."

33/ "He has never been to my residence in 2019. Never. Not once."-- Fani.

"I'm no longer able to live there."

"Mr. Wade NEVER came to my house in S. Fulton. I was married in 2020. He never came to my house in 2020, let alone lived with me."

34/ Judge admonishes Fani to "listen" to questions or he'll have to strike her testimony if it happens over and over.

35/ "Don't be cute with me" Fani to Trumpette.

Trumpette threw in a lie in a question, got caught.

36/ "Ma'am... I don't have checks!"--Fani after being asked if she ever paid Wade w/ checks.

She has used cash.

37/ Trumpette is trying to prove Fani didn't have "these mounds of money she keeps talking about."

38/ Trumpette is quoting from some book, asking if the quotes are accurate about Fani claiming she was "broke" after she ran for judge and lost. I think. Oy.

40/ Judge keeps telling Trumpette to move along, she's repeating things, asking things that have been prohibited, etc.

41/ Fani: Mr. Wade is NOT an employee and he'll tell you that over and over again.

Trumpette is trying to accuse her of breaking rules and sleeping with some "working under you"

42/ "I would ask that you not yet at me." Yes, Asshole Trumpy yelled a question at her.

43/ Context:

Sadow is up on behalf of Trump.

Sadow: If I heard you correctly, you moved into Ms. Yeartie's condo in 2021?

Willis: Yes

Sadow: And you moved for safety reasons?

Willis: Yes, my father was concerned about me continuing to live at my house.

44/ Now judge has to move Asshole Trumpy along too. He's making a big point of showing Fani and Wade were dun dun DUNNN... alone in the condo together!

45/ Bower:

Sadow: I asked you about Wade visiting the condo when you lived there. So when Mr. Wade visited, it was just the 2 of you?

Willis: Right

Sadow: Who in the DA's office knew about your relationship w/ Wade?

Willis: I'm a private person, I don't go around telling my business.

46/ Asshole Trumpy (Sadow) thought he had something...When you went to DC, DID YOU GO TO THE WHITE HOUSE?

Answer. No.

Next.

47/ "The romantic rel'ship ended before the indictment..."

And now Sadow is browbeating her about this.

48/ "I don't need a man to foot my bills. The only man I let foot my bills was my daddy!"--Fani

49/ Sadow now wants to go after her for her church speech, which wasn't supposed to be covered, per the judge.

50/ Sadow tried to go after cash wi/drawal records over a period of years. Objection sustained.

51/ "I'm not going to emasculate a b Black man" Fani says, answering q about contact w/ Wade in 2020, when he had cancer.

52/ Recap via Bower:

Sadow: Did your relationship w/ Wade end before or after the indictment?

Willis: Well, he's a man, so he would probably say before. The physical relationship ended June or July 2023. But in my mind we didn't end until August because women need to have a conversation about it.

“I don't need anything from a man. A man is not a plan. A man is a companion...I don't need anybody to foot my bills. The only man who ever paid my bills completely is my daddy!" --Fani Willis

53/ New lawyer asking Q but Hammy was barking and I couldn't hear. I'll try to find more.

54/ Here we go, via Bower:

No more questions from Sadow.

Allyn Stockton, on behalf of Rudy Giuliani, is up next.

Stockton: You've never been to Austrailia with Mr. Wade?

Willis: No. I didn't even know he went there in December.

55/ Stockton: Did Wade's law partners, Bradley and Campbell, also get contracts w/ DA office?

Willis: Yes but only for a short time after I first became DA. Then I let them go when my office was properly staffed. But they did not do any filter/taint team work for this case.

He was going on about how much everyone was paid, and how Wade was benefiting.

56/ Stephen Fowler:

So far, nearly an entire day in, there hasn't really been any connection/through line/discussion backing up the claims that Wade/Willis are personally profiting from carrying on this prosecution, part of the *legal* challenge.

57/ Stockton is done w/ his questions.

Mark Meadows's attorney says he has no questions for DA Willis.

Up next: Harry MacDougall on behalf of Jeffrey Clark.

58/ MacDouggall just told to "sit down now" by judge... he was trying to say Fani took gifts. She didn't.

59/ Bower:

MacDougald asks Willis about financial disclosure form she filled out as DA. She didn't disclose any gifts received over $100.

MacDougald: You didn't receive more than $100 in gifts from Nathan Wade?

Willis: I never considered that I took anything from him...

60/ I don't even remember who this lawyer is now.

Via Hallerman:

Getting the distinct impression Judge McAfee is ready to go home. Losing patience with lines of questioning from several defense attorneys.

I don't blame him.

61/ Bower:

Willis says that maybe the dinners they had together amounted to more than $100. But she says she's probably never had more than $100 worth of food in her life.

Now Gillen is up for David Shafer. He asks about the trip she took Wade on to Belize for his birthday.

"My fiftieth birthday sucked." --Fani Willis

62/ Trumpy/Rudy/Schmucky lawyers are done.

Cross will start her questioning at 9am ET tomorrow. She's off the stand til then.

But more is going on. Cross will call about 3-4 witnesses.

So they're just doing housekeeping now. And I don't care.

I'm exhausted.

@GottaLaff
Imagine how Fani feels. And this is nothing compared to the grilling Trump's going to feel being on-camera for 8 hours a day on live TV when the trial comes.

It's going to be brutal and it's going to break him.
