"If you’re focused on the ages of the candidates instead of the criminal prosecutions of Trump, you’re doing it wrong. If you’re clutching your pearls over whether voters will 'tolerate' lawfully enforcing the Constitution’s Disqualification Clause and declaring Trump ineligible for the presidency, instead of focused on what Trump II would entail for the Republic, you’ve got your head in the sand."

@wdlindsy @AlliFlowers My impression is that our domestic state of affairs have to turn really bad before the populace at large becomes engaged at the polls to face rising fascism head on, or more will turn to the #MAGA Right tactics of tearing down the system, promoting faux- democracy, while fooling, easily convincing white privilege types that ideals such as equality, democracy, and level playing fields are not in their best interests, but cheat to win is.
@Huntn00 @AlliFlowers Or if things turn bad, that will only drive many voters in the direction of fascism. So Steven Bannon thinks.
@wdlindsy @AlliFlowers As a logical adult, you have to view anyone supporting Trump, and/or the GOP as the “screw the rules”, anti-Democracy, anti-Constitutional, enablers for the modern US fascism movement, even if they are too stupid or self serving, because all they can imagine is that they’ll come out ahead, an advantage over others they don’t like, or even the ability to shove their straight jacket religious views down everyone else’s throats. 🔥🔥
@Huntn00 @AlliFlowers Yes, I think this is key to the delight that a certain group of citizens always expresses when their "enemies" are targeted: they imagine they themselves won't ever be targeted in similar fashion. History inevitably proves them wrong.
@AlliFlowers @Huntn00 I certainly hope that option is on the table down the road. It is long since time that the mechanisms of government be placed in the hands of a generation that's not approaching senility. But the Founders set the system up precisely to place power in the hands of older men (Senate, after all, is from Latin senex, old man), who were required to be white and property-owning. The system needs to be repaired and reformed. That requires continuingn to vote and demand change.
