So I love #WheelOfTime, I have loved it for more than 30 years. I am, in fact, currently rereading.
What you should probably know, just to save us both aggravation, is this: I don’t love the tv show. I wanted to. I really wanted to. I watched two episodes and never felt the need to watch more.
@gekidasa This is why I almost never watch a movie based on a book I loved. I’ve made an exception with Foundation only because it’s been 40 years since I read it. @Callalily
@AlliFlowers @Callalily pretty much, yeah. How much I dislike a live action adaptation (I tend to like animation more) tends to be directly proportional to how much I love it and how many liberties the story takes. It’s not impossible of, but it has to be like… Good Omens. And Neil cowrote the book and wrote the script. So.
@AlliFlowers @Callalily i like Interview with the Vampire, but, you know, it’s been a LONG time, and I didn’t love ALL the books. And to me, the show FEELS like the Vampire Chronicles.
The WoT show doesn’t feel like the books to me, sorry. (Also, it did Abel Cauthon so dirty and I can’t forgive that).
@gekidasa One of my early mistakes was watching the original movie with Tom Cruise. He just made it all into a comedy. @Callalily

@AlliFlowers @Callalily it’s always a wise move to skip stuff that you think will make you angry. I often have hope despite my better judgement.
@gekidasa First time I discovered the difference between a book and a movie was many years ago in elementary school with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. @Callalily
@AlliFlowers @Callalily i actually liked his Lestat. It was Armand that made me shudder there. (Jury is out on the new Armand for me as of now)
