Suspicious mole...
Called PCP on 6/15 can't get in until 7/11.
Opened my insurance app and was instantly able to get a teledoc appointment and within 10 minutes received a referral for a dermatologist based on a photo I uploaded.
I can't decide if this is a win or a loss. Certainly if local doctors want to remain relevant then they will need to update their practices or they are going to be Ubered out of a job.
So, not a win,
"Hi Stephen, this is Amanda calling from Blue Shield of California. I talked to you a few minutes ago about your referral and I verified that [teledoc] providers cannot give referrals that have to come from someone in your medical group, but your primary care doctor would be the one that would have to be the one to submit the referral. If you do have any other questions, please feel free to give us a call...."
