So listen: I don't love talking about my health in public, but I think I have an important message for anyone who has EVER smoked cigarettes. Unknown to almost everyone, the #2 cause of bladder cancer in men and women, after genetics, is prior smoking. Urologists should be warning everyone that has ever smoked to get a regular cystoscopy, (not painful). In that critical early stage, these cancers can ONLY been seen by visual inspection. That's it.
As for me, I will probably be fine. Probably. I need surgery again to remove 2nd case of “superficial tumors” in 3 months, and then 6 weeks of chemo. Not the type to take my hair, or cause other dramas, but still not much fun. And reasonably effective in keep it contained for a long time. These only get “aggressive” in 3% of cases, doc says.
@shoq My only advice is to take hard candy with you when you start chemo. The taste is overwhelming, but things like atomic fire balls can squelch it a little.
